What it does
F&I menu software presents protection products such as service contracts, GAP, tire and wheel and maintenance plans in a consistent way. It pulls rates from product providers, builds payment options and records what the customer chose or declined. Product providers write those contracts and pay claims, often with reinsurance or participation options for the dealer.
Consistency protects the store. Showing every product to every customer, with clear prices and the option to decline, reduces the risk of payment packing claims. The FTC continues to bring cases over add-ons, and state rules such as California's CARS Act set new limits on how optional products are sold and disclosed.
Shoppers increasingly see products online before they reach the store. Menus that work in digital retailing and on a tablet in the showroom help keep the presentation the same in both places.
